St. Peter, Mansfield: 100 Years

St. Peter's parish in Mansfield will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of their church building this May. There's a good article about its history in the current issue of "Heart of Ohio" magazine. You can look at the article at the website HERE. (Go to the "download" tab.)

I don't know who the priest on the left is, but the one on the left is Fr. F.A. Schreiber, who was pastor when the church was built, in 1917.

One of the best facades in the diocese.

An Excellent Website

I may have found the best parish website in the diocese. It belongs to St. Peter's, in Mansfield. The building and the website are fantastic. There's a link to a page on the parish history that's better than anything I've seen. There's also a Sacred Art page, but the links that it mentions don't seem to be there. You'll notice the murals in the picture. They're all that could be salvaged after a fire. The artist was John Bernat, who also did some work at St. Stephen's in East Toledo. Be sure to look around this website. They've really done a good job.

It seems they're doing some work on artists John Bernat and Martha Miligan Bernat, whose work can be found at St. Peter's in Mansfield.
