Mother of Sorrows, Put in Bay

Very nice. The porch is a gem and the statue livens things up.
I don't think I've ever seen a rose window with this sort of treatment around it. Haven't quite made up my mind on that.

Note to Commenters

This blog is not a forum for debate, or for anonymous calumny. Comment moderation has returned, so don't even bother. Your efforts backfire and make Fr. Leyland look foolish. The man should be ashamed of himself. He owes the Church an apology and a public statement condemning the sort of conduct his supporters engage in.
UPDATE:After a closer look at the situation, I don't think Fr. Leyland is the cause of this. Hatred of God and His Church is. That sort of thing will not find a forum here, so just go peddle your pitiful whining on your own blogs.

Immaculate Conception, Old South End

The war memorial. Pewabic Pottery, of Detroit, made the Pieta. They were noted for both art pottery and architectural tile, producing some of the best work of the Art Deco. Pewabic's work at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception can be seen HERE. The Pottery is still in operation. If you like tiles, you really should take a look at their website .

Sts. Peter and Paul, Old South End

Good Shepherd, East Toledo

Every pane of glass, in those doors, is beveled.

Yes, I noticed the bilge in the Blade where a troop of halfwits decided they know better than the Holy Father. No I didn't bother to read it. Yes, I also know those rebellious twits in Perrysburg are still showing what a monumentally bad job Fr. Leyland did of running the place, but I'm ignoring it. Too many people in Toledo seem to have delusions of grandeur. However, I happen to be about one step away from a heart attack and, since I never suffered fools gladly, I've decided to not suffer them at all, for the duration.
