Joseph P. Machebeuf

There's a good post about Bishop Machebeuf at Sandusky History.
Not long ago, I noticed yet another bishop who had served in this area, which seems to have been a training ground for them. I'll try to post on him this week.

Bishop (Father at the time) Machebeuf was the first pastor of St. Ann in Fremont and later became first Bishop of Denver. Bishop (Father at the time) Amadeus Rappe was the second pastor of St. Ann, and later became first Bishop of Cleveland. Bishop (Father at the time) Louis de Goesbriand was the third pastor of St. Ann, and later became first Bishop of Burlington VT. The next 29 pastors of St. Ann did not become bishops. The present incumbent is hoping to make it 30 in a row.
