Did they really paint over all that beautiful work on the walls? It is more tastefully done than some, but painting over that with what looks like contractor white is disappointing.
I agree with you completely, and I was on the renovation committee at the time. The church had not been renovated (Or painted) in 45 years. There were so many things that needed to be addressed that we ran out of money. We ended up with three colors. I argued against it but since we were out of money there wasn't much that could be done. There was no way to leave it as it was because there were so many cracks in the walls. The ceiling had to be totally re plastered and a wire mesh screen embedded in it to hold it together. I hope that we don't wait another 45 years to paint again. We need to add more color!
