Quite a Picture
HERE'S a good one. It's a panoramic photograph taken before a banquet at the Ursuline Convent in Toledo, on October 4, 1911. Bishop Schrembs and Archbishop Henry K. Moeller of Cincinnati are in the middle, surrounded by a whole horde of priests. Wouldn't be surprised if every priest in the diocese was there. Click on the picture to enlarge it, and be sure to notice the nuns looking out the windows.

Will have to look that one over closely. If you look behind the bishops, there is a priest wearing a jacket with medals on it. I think that is Fr. John Mizer from Carey. The shrine booklet has a photo of him dressed in that same jacket.
CORRECTION: I read the caption incorrectly in the Carey history booklet. The priest w/ the medals is Fr. Edward Vattmann.
Aargh, the file won't open now ...
It's a government website. I've reposted it twice, so far and it keeps breaking after a couple hours. Too big to post, but I'll try cutting it into manageable pieces.
