St. Louis, East Toledo

This one's closed, but still standing. I'd have to say the church, itself, isn't anything to crow about. The tower is nice and the entrance is good, but that high gable makes the facade look top-heavy. You'll notice the whole front of the church is an addition. The old part ( you can see a bit of it in the center of the picture ) was built in 1871. The front was tacked on, I believe, in the 1940's.
There's one thing I have to say. Look at the school building at the left. It was two frame structures that were joined together and covered in brick, in 1928. It's the best small school building I've ever seen. The entry arch and the little tower are fantastic.
