and we still find bricks from this building that pop up in the yard from time to time...

Any speculation as to the tower-like structure on the roof?

Probably held a bell. It's a bit boxy.

it looks very similar to the one that was atop the very first school behind the first church...can you see it in that picture of the outside of the first church? it may have been transferred as many things were just put in the new church...such as the bell, some tables and such, bricks.
