A tribute to the treasure trove of ecclesiastical art and architecture in the Diocese of Toledo.
my memory is flagging; where is the location for St Agnes Parish?
Off Sylvania Avenue near Five Points.
On Martha Ave, to be exact -- between Sylvania and Berdan, a block east of Haverhill.
I am trying to remember a 7th grade nun in the 1958-1960 era. I know Sister Eugenia was one of the 7th grade teachers and I believe this nun returned to the school to teach 7th grade. It was not Sister Gregory or Sister Helen Rita. Thanks for any help you can give.
I am in 8th grade now. 1st grade was my last year here before it closed. I still have such a vivid memory.
Even though I was not Catholic, I have very fond memories of going to church with my grandparents on Sunday morning after spending the night Saturday at their house. It did not matter what the weather was like we would always enter through the back parking lot door and sit in the pews on the side. I remember my older sister getting married in that church, and also attending funeral services for my grandparents. I went through that neighborhood about a year ago showing a few places to my younger daughter and I have memories of and it was sad to see St Agnes was closed down and seem to have had some vandalism to the church. I used to admire the architectural structure in the stained glass windows.
