Theodore F. MacManus, one of the pioneers of modern advertising, started his agency in Toledo in 1903. Born in Buffalo, NY, he developed many of the early ad campaigns for the automotive industry. You can read about his local history HERE.
Above, a poem from his book of "Verses."He and his family later moved to the Detroit area, and he commissioned the building of the original stone chapel of St. Hugo of the Hills church in Bloomfield Hills. You can view a tour of the chapel HERE.
