that's a lot of chairs...
Reminds me of the European cathedrals, with even more chairs. Most of them never had pews.
yeah and why is that exactly?
Well, for one thing, they're enormous and pews would cost a fortune. Since the cathedrals are put to a lot of different uses, they'd get in the way, as well.Actually pews are a relatively new invention. It's only a hundred years or so since people became too proud to kneel on the floor.
This too, is my first exposure to a "pewless" church.
