Fuss and Fluster
Jay Anderson, at Pro Ecclesia, has been doing a good job of reporting on the whining down in Perrysburg. I'll only ad what Jay is too polite to say. Someone needs to give Fr. Leyland a good swift kick in the ass and tell him the Vatican won't be impressed by his brother being a baseball coach, or whatever he is. Football? Hockey? Whatever.

Leyland needs to go quietly. I think he forget about the "respect" part of his promise to "respect and obey" when he was ordained. By the way, he doesn't have a chance in canonical court since he missed the deadlines and had no valid case to begin with (he knew this all along, but the papers made it seem as though the case was in process). The bishop can't reinstate him as pastor since a new pastor (Fr. Nuss) is now installed and has the right to that office. Perhaps the bishop is privy to some information that we don't have? The fact remains that those people in front of the Catholic Offices protesting only know Leyland's side of the story. The Bishop can't tell his side of things because Canon Law compels him to protect the reputation of Fr. Leyland (see c. 220). Whose being the adult here?
Fr. Leyland seems to have forgotten something they used to call obedience...
Do any of you know either Fr. Leyland or the Bishop?
You would be quite shocked at how the Bishop acts in private. Obviously if I wrote anymore you would delete this post. Research the man. He is less than holy.
Under normal circumstances, I would delete your post anyway. However, I will use it to make a point.
"By your fruits you shall know them." The bishop has done an excellent job of running the diocese. If Fr. Leyland's fruits are controversy, dissension, and anonymous calumny (as this little item) then it's quite obvious the bishop is ahead. You are a spineless, cowardly, pitiful excuse for a human being if you hide behind anonymity to defame another human being. I wouldn't recommend doing it again. It only reflects badly on Fr. Leyland.
