The Wave of the Future

La métamorphose d'un autel
Uploaded by CHRIST-REDEMPTEUR
All over the world, more and more Catholics are realizing that it's an altar, not a picnic table, and that we're talking to God, not one another.

I never thought I would say this: "God Bless the French!" Perhaps the sensus fidelium of the French people will convince their hierarchy that the people are starving for a sense of the transcendence of Christian Liturgy. The sense of the sacred needs to be restored. The altar of sacrifice needs to be respected as such and should not be dressed like a common dining room table. I have actually heard people referring to the dressing of the altar for Good Friday as "setting the table." Yikes! It took more than a little bit of prudent patience on my part to let that one slide. Then again, most people don't know any better. The younger generation knows little about the sacrificial nature of the Mass, nor do they have knowledge of the sacred terms used to denote vessels used at Mass, etc. There is a lot of work to be done. This video is one example of how the sacredness of the liturgy can be restored rather easily.

Think of how it makes an old limey like me feel.
It's growing every day and the renewal is inevitible. "prudent patience" is the way to go, son.
