Old St. Mary, Shelby
This was very nice. Built in the early 1890's, I believe. I like the big openings at the top of the tower. There's one rather unusual detail. You don't often see both a rose window and a tympanum window over the entrance of a fairly small church.

Okay, you got me.
Does a tympanum window have anything to do with the church's bells, as in the louvered section above the rose window?
I'm so used to preaching to the choir that I forget. A tympanum window is triangular, in this case triangular with curved edges.
