St. Gaspar del Bufalo, Marywood

These are a few screen shots from video taken inside St. Gaspar's church in Marywood (near Bellevue.)  Just a hint of its beauty.

Get a good look at Marywood while you can. It will be a pile of rubble in just a few short years. I am originally from Assumption and I am sad to see it go, but it will be even worse to see Marywood go down just for the reasons. It is not a happy parish, and parishioners seem to be working hard to kill this well preserved church. Our area was nicknamed Marywood by a priest who was impressed by our Marian devotions during that time, hopefully the entire area can get back to devotions, be cooperative and thankful for the the priest and church that we are blessed to have. Deep family history in Reed, Bismark and Marywood... hard to think about all 3 parishes extinct.

Magnificent high altar. Is this parish slated to be closed?

No -- this building was originally Marywood St. Michael, and St. Michael, Reed Assumption and Bismark St. Sebastian were merged to form St. Gaspar del Bufalo. So this church is now called St. Gaspar -- he was the founder of the Society of the Precious Blood, which started many parishes in Northwest Ohio, and still staff Sorrowful Mother shrine that is just down the road. The other 2 churches are slated for demolition.
