The Cathedral

This, along with one of St. Anthony, is in a vestibule, near the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. I figure I'll wait until it's a bit warmer, and get in touch with someone who's familiar with the light switches, before doing any serious interior photography.

Once again, thanks -- and keep the photos coming.

(You might consider adding an index of links to all your Rosary photos to the sidebar.)

Any addition to the sidebar is too complicated to deal with at the moment. The tag, at the bottom of the post will bring them all up, though.

What is that beautiful canopy-like thing over the pulpit properly called? St. Lucas has one of those, and I haven't seen any other local Protestant churches that have one.

I don't think I've ever heard them called anything but canopies.

I believe "canopy" is the generic term for the covering above any of the sanctuary furnishings (altar, cathedra, etc.).

The specific term for the canopy over the pulpit would be "sounding-board" or "reflector", from its function.

What the Latin term is I've no idea -- anyone else?
