The yellow globe with an Edison base (I believe they were 7.5 w) screwed into the ceramic socket mounted on a black/dark brown metal plate, right dead center over the door on the front.
To my personal and admittedly idiosyncratic eye, it looks completely out of place, ugly as s__, and is very distracting.
Think of all the lights manufactured in this world that would appear like they belonged there -- and would add to the beauty of this lovely old heirloom.
With all of the lights available in the world, why mar this beauty with something that ugly?
