As Pope Benedict XVI prepares for Masses at Yankee Stadium and Nationals Park, it seems fitting to post this photo of the Toledo Diocese Silver Jubilee Mass at the old home of the Toledo Mud Hens, Swayne Field.

An estimated 10,000 people attended the Mass on May, 25, 1936, with Dr. Ignatius Kelly directing more than 3,000 elementary and high school students in the singing of the Pontifical Mass of Thanksgiving.
