A tribute to the treasure trove of ecclesiastical art and architecture in the Diocese of Toledo.
What is so unusual about the steeple -- other than the flying buttresses at the corners?
Oh, absolutely! Now this is a treasure. What town is this in?
Thanks ... it's lovely from the outside ... a nice spire always gets my attention!
I've never really thought about it, but there are a lot of churches just in huron county alone.
I like the datestone.
The steeple isn't necessarily unusual; but it IS beautiful, and very commanding!
I just noticed something. Look at the inset trefoil on the side of the tower, and the bands of Greek crosses about halfway up the wall.
