FYI

The Vatican has announced that any baptism performed "in the name of the Creator, and of the Redeemer, and of the Sanctifier", or any wording other than "in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit" is invalid. HERE'S the story.
I should certainly hope no priest around here would be fool enough to do such a thing.

  1. What the ... ?? Some of this knee-jerk political overcorrectness is getting a bit out of hand. Whose silly idea was it that I might be offended at hearing God referred to in the masculine gender? Come on now ... sheesh. I'm glad to hear the Pope nipped this silliness in the bud. Hopefully no Lutheran pastors will stoop to that sort of absurdity ...

  2. It seems to have been very rare, except at a parish in Brisbane, Australia. They bishop, there, put a stop to it, but they were fool enough to appeal to the Vatican.

  3. i say who gives a crap? who cares what they "say it in the name of". Honestly, is it that big of a deal? The world won't come to an end if someone did that, and who's to say that a baptism isn't valid because of the preacher's choice of words? Stupid...
