St. John, Delphos

St. John's is beautiful now, but that altar was an unfortunate loss. I wouldn't be surprised if the columns used in the new baldachin came from that unusual superstructure over it.
Does anyone know when the baldachin was built? Is it a recent attempt to restore the tabernacle to its proper place after an earlier remodelling had moved it?
