  3. Those angels (though hard to make out) used to be where holy water was kept. (like to dip your hands in) They had some sort of shell thing they were holding...

  4. Alex: They're called holy water stoups or fonts. Probably a scallop shell.
    Jay: Could be restored, though. A bit expensive, but quite possible.
