Almost Forgot

"The Toledo Choral Society will present its spring concert at 3 pm, May 18, in Augsburg Lutheran Church, 1342 Sylvania Ave. Music director Samuel Szor will lead the choir in two works by Haydn -- "Missa Brevis" and "Te Deum" -- as well as J.S. Bach's "Kleine Orgel Messe" featuring Thomas Szor at the organ. An extra special work on the program is "Everyone Sang", a new work by Toledo musician, composer, and poet Margaret Weber, who has set to her own music poetry by the Englishman Siegfried Sassoon. Tickets are $10 at the door or in advance through the church office. Information: 419-478-2374.'

The Toledo Choral Society is the area's oldest continuously performing musical organization. Created in 1919, the Society has gained a reputation for its lavish production of Handel's "Messiah" every Christmas, as well as spring concerts of great choral works. Samuel Szor has led the group since 1958."

Sounds good.

Thanks for the lovely pix from St. Bernard, New Washington. I am adding this to the stash for my mother-in-law, who was raised in this parish in the 30s and 40s - Susan from Akron
