"The Toledo Choral Society will present its spring concert at 3 pm, May 18, in Augsburg Lutheran Church, 1342 Sylvania Ave. Music director Samuel Szor will lead the choir in two works by Haydn -- "Missa Brevis" and "Te Deum" -- as well as J.S. Bach's "Kleine Orgel Messe" featuring Thomas Szor at the organ. An extra special work on the program is "Everyone Sang", a new work by Toledo musician, composer, and poet Margaret Weber, who has set to her own music poetry by the Englishman Siegfried Sassoon. The Toledo Choral Society is the area's oldest continuously performing musical organization. Created in 1919, the Society has gained a reputation for its lavish production of Handel's "Messiah" every Christmas, as well as spring concerts of great choral works.
