Help Wanted

This morning Jeffrey was informed that St. Mary's Church in Edgerton is a pretty spectacular building, both inside and out. We can't find any pictures of the place online and we would really like to feature St. Mary's on our blog.

Jeffrey, Kevin, Alex, and myself all live an hour or more away from Edgerton and it would take quite the drive to get there to photograph the church. If anyone happens to live in the Williams County area and would like to contribute any pictures you have of St. Mary's, we would definitely appreciate it. Our contact information is in the bar on the right hand side of the page. Thank you very much!

P.S. If you have been there but don't have any pictures, we would also appreciate any description you might have of the place. Thanks!

My source for this is a retired priest whose opinions I respect. I have a feeling this one's a gem.
It was designed by the architect who did the Cathedral and I understand it has a first-rate altarpiece.

Believe me, if I still drove I'd be out there tomorrow.

I think the fact that the architect that did Rosary Cathedral also designed this one has me the most excited.

It is spectacular, I've been in it, but have no pictures and won't be able to get there anytime soon. Unfortunately the church that it has been twinned with in Blakesly (spelling?) was gutted in the iconoclastic 70s. The Pastor in Edgerton resisted change although many tried very hard to have it changed. I've heard that all of the timber in it (and there is a lot) is local. You've got to see this church!

I'm glad you reminded me of that. Apparently, the lumber came from the parishioners' lands, was aged three years before use, and each parishioner signed a piece of it.

Thanks for the info, holler.

I know that they have a great pastor now, with Fr. Steve Schroeder.
